Wood County Traffic Court Records
Traffic cases in Wood County do not all land with one clerk. The four Wood County Justice Courts handle traffic and other fine-only criminal matters. Each works inside its own precinct. Five cities run their own municipal courts. Mineola, Winnsboro, Quitman, Hawkins, and Alba handle city ordinance and Class C traffic cases. The court printed on the ticket decides where the case lives. A Mineola resident might hold a JP citation. Someone from outside town might owe Mineola Municipal Court a visit.
The issuing court keeps the traffic docket itself. Its record can list the citation or case number. It also shows the charge, the plea, appearance settings, payments, orders, and the outcome. County Odyssey may help with JP or county material. Do not assume it covers municipal courts. And note that a jail or bond selector on Odyssey is a separate record. It is not a traffic court docket.
Four Wood County JP Routes
Wood County splits lower-court work four ways. JP1 sits in Quitman, JP2 in Mineola, JP3 in Hawkins, and JP4 in Winnsboro. Payments go through the county payment center, which routes money by precinct and bureau code. JP1 uses 7952491, JP2 uses 3128375, and JP4 uses 3468310. JP3 lists no code there. Ask its clerk first before you pay.
The county payment center page lays out the court-specific choices. These serve Wood County traffic ticket payments.

The official page makes the split plain. Picking a route means knowing your precinct. Payment screens will not replace the traffic court record.
Justice Court Contacts
JP1: 402 S. Stephens St., Quitman, 903-763-2713
JP2: 716 N. Greenville Hwy., Mineola, 903-569-3802
JP3: 5413 S. FM 14, Hawkins, 903-769-3517
JP4: 1001 E. Coke Road, Winnsboro, 903-342-3079
A bureau code points money to the right place. That is all it does. It proves neither the amount due nor the full Wood County traffic record.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
Begin with the citation number and the exact court name. Mineola offers the clearest city search form. Other cities lean on the clerk instead. Some use printed forms or payment links. Enter a name and birth date only where the official court form asks for them.
- Read the court name, citation number, appearance date, and issuing agency.
- For a JP case, open Wood County Court Records Inquiry.
- For Mineola, use its municipal citation portal. Follow the named municipal court for any other city.
- Call or visit the clerk if no match appears. A new citation may not yet be posted.
- Note the latest setting, response date, charge, and status, then confirm them with the court.
A name search can pull up several people at once. A citation or case number pins down one case. Whatever the method, the result is still an index rather than a certified record.
Mineola Traffic Search Modes
The Mineola Municipal Online Services search bundles several paths into one place, something no countywide form offers. No sign-in is needed to use it.
The city's portal shows the citation search tabs side by side, each with its own identifying fields.

That screen handles city cases only. A JP citation belongs in Wood County Odyssey or with the precinct clerk named on the ticket.
| Mode | Fields | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Citation | Number and birth date | Exact ticket |
| License | Number, state, birth date | Lost citation |
| Name | First, last, birth date | Person search |
| Vehicle | Plate and state | Vehicle-linked search |
| Business | Business name | Entity citation |
Treat it as a case and payment view, nothing more. It promises no docket export or certified copy. Call Mineola Municipal Court at 903-569-6603 for the court file.
Wood County Traffic Court Dates
Check the appearance date on the citation first. It drives everything that follows. A reset shifts the schedule but never closes the case. Keep the old entry as history, and rely on the newest setting or signed order instead. Wood County's posted dockets can shift without notice.
| Citation Number | A venue-specific number printed on the ticket; no universal county format is published. |
|---|---|
| Court | The municipal court or JP that owns the file. |
| Date & Time | The appearance, plea, pretrial, or trial setting. |
| Location | The address stated by the court or latest notice. |
| Status | A court-entered state that may need clerk confirmation. |
For a JP matter, the Odyssey Court Calendar offers a second check on a date. City cases work the same way through that municipal clerk. The Wood County court dates resource covers county settings in one place.
Quitman Traffic Response Windows
Quitman's own rules show why each court's instructions matter. A plea or payment is due on or before the appearance date on the citation. Want a driving-safety course? Ask within 20 calendar days of the offense. Pay court costs plus a $10 dismissal fee, and finish the course within 90 days. A commercial license and certain high-speed or safety-zone offenses are excluded.
Quitman deferred disposition also needs a request within 20 calendar days. The court says the fine and probation fees are due within 14 days of that request. A common traffic probation term runs 90 days. These deadlines belong to Quitman alone. Another Wood County court may set different rules.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Payment, a not-guilty plea, a safety-course request, and deferred disposition carry different legal weight. Quitman states that a not-guilty plea puts the case on a trial docket. Opening a payment page never extends your response deadline.
| Pay | Contest |
|---|---|
| Follow the court's guilty or no-contest process. | Enter a timely not-guilty plea. |
| Use only accepted online, mail, or counter methods. | Ask for a judge or jury trial as permitted. |
| The court records payment and disposition. | The court adds a trial or pretrial setting. |
Missed appearance: Contact the named court at once. No single countywide failure-to-appear amount is published, so ask about warrants, added fees, reset options, and any DPS report.
Winnsboro Traffic Docket Options
Winnsboro Municipal Court posts links for payment, warrants, safety courses, and payment plans. Its safety-course form demands a request by the appearance date. It also requires a guilty or no-contest plea, a valid Texas license, and no course within the past 12 months. Costs run $134 plus a $10 dismissal fee. There is no extension or payment plan for that sum.
A payment-plan filing must reach the court with the application and plea form by the first appearance, plus financial proof if the clerk asks. The clerk sets the final terms. One caution: a rural citation near Winnsboro may belong to JP4. Read the ticket before using any city form.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
Two different offices hold two different files. The court that issued your ticket, whether a Wood County municipal court or a JP court, keeps the case docket. The Texas Department of Public Safety keeps a separate driver record. Reports can pass between them, but one request will never fetch both.
| Court record | Driver record | |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | Municipal or JP clerk | Texas DPS |
| Shows | Citation, plea, settings, orders, payment, result | Reported convictions and license history |
| Access | Court lookup or clerk request | DPS request channel |
For a dismissal or a deferred result, trust the court order and docket entry, not your driving record. That file sits with DPS. Knowing which office holds which record saves you a wasted trip.
Wood County Ticket Custody
City boundaries do not settle where a ticket lives. The issuing agency named on the citation tells you whether Alba, Hawkins, Mineola, Quitman, Winnsboro, or a Wood County JP holds the docket. Class A and B misdemeanors sit in County Court, a separate tier entirely.
Traffic docket flow: Citation › municipal court or JP › plea or trial setting › order or disposition › possible county-level appeal.
Most appeals from non-record municipal or JP courts proceed to a county-level court for a new trial, subject to Texas rules. Confirm the deadline and receiving clerk in the original court. A municipal appeal does not turn the original city file into a District Clerk record. The notice, bond, and transfer entries begin with the court that entered the judgment. Searchers should keep the citation number, municipal case number, and any new county cause number together because each can identify a different stage of the same matter.
Wood County County Court also handles its assigned Class A and B misdemeanor work. Those files are kept by the County Clerk, not by a city clerk or JP. A charge above the fine-only tier therefore needs a different search path. Check the charge class and court caption before deciding that a missing municipal ticket has vanished.
Wood County Copies and Fees
Copy fees for traffic records depend on which office holds the file. The JP fee sheet lists set amounts. The municipal courts do not all publish schedules. Request a plain or certified copy of the traffic case record and get the total before you pay.
| Item | Amount | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| JP certified copy | $2 first page; $0.25 added page | JP2 sheet |
| JP photocopy | $1 first page; $0.25 added page | JP2 sheet |
| JP processor | 2.85% plus $1 minimum | County payment center |
| Quitman statutory dismissal | $20 | Strict stated cases |
| Fine or city copy | Court-specific | No countywide schedule |
Have the clerk confirm the exact sum. A certified copy is only valid from the court that entered the Wood County traffic record.
